Black Women Photographers Grant FundFeatured
The Black Women Photographers Grant Fund, in partnership with Nikon will award 11 monetary awards totaling $50,000 to Black Women working in the industry. The grants were designed to help with the completion of visual project and to ease business expenses.
Deadline: 11:59 p.m. ET on February 17, 2020.

The Susannah Kelly Art AwardFeatured
The newly-launched Susannah Kelly Art Award offers grants of $2,000 to artists who work with drawing, painting, or sculpture. The awardees will also have a solo exhibit at Antler & Talon galleries in Portland. The grant fund was established to honor Susannah Kelly’s memory and legacy, who founded the Antler and Talon galleries.

Open Calls

Filter Photo Request for Exhibition Proposals (International)
Filter Photo accepts proposals for photography of all types. This includes traditional and experimental work, as well as those from emerging curators or veteran artists. Accepted proposals receive a four to six week exhibition at Filter Space, in 2024 or in 2025, as well as at least one reception, the chance to host an event to coincide with the exhibition, marketing for the exhibition and a stipend according to W.A.G.E. standards.

Noguchi Museum 2024 Call for Artist Banners (New York City),
The Noguchi Museum invites working artists ages 18+ who reside in New York City and self-identify as Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) to submit designs for the museum’s outdoor banners, responding to the theme of “love and labor.” The winning artist will receive a $3,500 honorarium. Their work is scheduled to be installed between May 2024 and May 2025. Each of the two runners-up will receive an honorarium of $2,500. All three artists have the chance to create and lead a program for the public at the museum.

Open Call for Digital Commissions by Locust Projects (International)
Locust Projects invites artists to apply for the opportunity to propose ambitious multi-layered digital projects that respond to the hybridity and flexibility of Locust Projects’ physical space in Miami and various presenting platforms from onsite, galleries, interior or exterior surfaces, on screens, or online. Locust Projects provides selected artist with curatorial advice, a production fund, and an artist W.A.G.E. W.A.G.E., documentation, as well as a residency opportunity that allows you to live and work in the area.

The 25 Spiral Creators Festival (International)
SICF was founded in Tokyo in 2000 as an open-call festival that aims to discover, nurture, and support emerging designers and artists. The organization is now accepting creators’ applications for the 25 Spiral Independent Creators Festival (SICF25), which runs May 2 to 7. Participants could win a grand prize of a solo show and up to ¥500,000.

Sony Future Filmmaker Awards (International)
The Sony Future Filmmaker Awards celebrate voices that bring new perspectives to storytelling. The selected filmmakers are flown out to Los Angeles to attend an exclusive four-day event. They will gain unprecedented insight into all aspects the filmmaking process in order to advance their career.

A Print Exhibition FREE THE BOOKS (International)
The Evanston Public Library is hosting an exhibition of prints about forbidden books in collaboration Hive Center for Book Arts & Starshaped Press. Entry fees range from 5 to 35 dollars.

Bio Art & Design Award 2024 (International)
Geared toward emerging designers and artists, this €25,000 award promotes bio art and design. The award will commission up three winners to create new work in collaboration Dutch scientists working in sustainability, nutrition, health, biotechnology and horticulture.
Deadline: February 21, 2024, 23:59 CET 

Art21 Educators Program (International)
Art21 Educators consists of a professional development program and learning community that lasts for an entire year. The program is designed to support K–12 educators in any subject area who are interested in bringing contemporary art, artists, and themes into the classroom.
Deadline: 11:59 p.m. ET on March 31, 2020.

Passepartout Photo prize (International)
This annual prize is open to any style, subject, or process. It also includes a Rome exhibition, a publication, and 1,000 Euros. Entry fees for three images start at 25 euros.

Grants

Artadia Awards (U.S.)
Artadia Awards grants three artists $15,000 each year in unrestricted funding in Atlanta, Boston Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area. There is a roving partner with 21c Museum Hotels where an award is presented each year in a new city where 21c Museum Hotels is located.
Los Angeles deadline: February 1, 2024. Chicago deadline: March 1, 2024. Additional deadlines will roll out throughout 2024.

BBA Artist Prize 2024  (International)
Artists working in all themes, mediums, and experience levels are invited to apply for cash prizes of €1,000, €700, or €500, plus the chance for a solo exhibition in 2025 at BBA Gallery in Berlin. There is a €29 fee if submitted before December 12, then €39.

New Voices Filmmaker Grant (International)
The New Voices Filmmaker grant is a partnership with Netflix that provides $25,000 to emerging LGBTQ+ filmmakers to create new works. It also offers mentorship, networking and professional development. Four emerging directors will be awarded the unrestricted grants.
Deadline: 22 February 2024

Prix Viviane Esders (Europe)
The Viviane Esders Endowment Fund invites applications for its third edition of the Prix Viviane Esders. This award recognizes European photographers who are over 60 and have developed their photographic careers over a period of several decades. One established photographer receives €50,000, and two finalists receive €5,000 each.

The Adolf and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant (International)
The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Program provides temporary financial assistance for qualified painters, sculptors, and printmakers whose needs result from an unforeseeable catastrophic incident, but who lack the means to meet this situation. The awardees receive an average of $5,000 up to $15,000.
Deadline: Rolling.

Adobe Creative Residency Community Fund (Ukraine)
Adobe’s Creative Residency Community Fund commissions visual artists to create company projects on a rolling basis. The awardees receive between $500 and $5,000.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (International)
The foundation is looking for applications from active visual artists who are painters or sculptors as well as artists who work on papers, including printmakers. Grants range from $5,000 to $50,000 and are for one year. The grant amount will depend on the individual circumstances of each artist, and the professional exhibition history of the artist.

Residencies, Fellowships, & More

Fine Arts Work Center 2024-2025 Visual Arts Fellowship (International)
Ten artists will receive seven-month residencies between October 1 and April 30. Fellows receive housing, a studio and a monthly stipend of $1,250. They also receive a $1,000 exit stipend. A $65 application fee is required.
Deadline: 11:59 p.m. ET on February 1, 2020.

Contemporary Craft Artists in Residence (U.S.)
Non-Pittsburgh Residents who work in metal-smithing and jewelry, fibers, weavings, wood, encaustics and paper and book arts, ceramics and woodworking, are eligible to apply for residencies. Artists are provided with a $1200 monthly stipend as well as housing and studio.
Deadline: 11:59 p.m. ET on February 1, 2020.

Arts/Industry at John Michael Kohler Arts Center (International)
This program is open to all disciplines and selects twelve artists every year for three-month residencies in pottery and foundries. No experience in clay or cast metals is required. Just a desire to create a new work and be open to new ideas. Residents receive a weekly stipend of $160, as well as studio space, housing transportation, industrial supplies, equipment and more.

Mattress Factory Artist in Residence (International)
Open to artists working in any medium, this residency offers an honorarium, a production and materials budget, transportation to and from the space in Pittsburgh, accommodation, a per diem during on-site installation, and fabrication and support.
Deadline: 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 8, 2024.

MacDowell Fellowship (International)
MacDowell awards approximately 300 fellowships per year. The sole criteria is artistic excellence. There are no residency costs, and stipends based on need and travel reimbursement grants are also available. MacDowell welcomes applications from artists working in architecture, film/video art, interdisciplinary arts (literature, music composition, theatre and visual arts) and all other fields.

Forge Project Fellowship (U.S.)
Six  Each of the following groups will receive at least $25,000: Indigenous artists, scholars or cultural workers; researchers and educators; or cultural workers.

Martin House Creative Residency Program (International)
The Creative Residency Program at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House offers artists and researchers a $5,000 stipend, housing, and $1,000 in travel expenses to create a new work related to the architect’s legacy.

2026 McKinney International Art and Design Resident (International)
The Eskenazi School of Art Architecture + Design at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a four– to six-week McKinney International Art and Design Residency. A well-established artist or designer residing outside the U.S. can receive studio space, housing, and $8,000

NXTHVN Fellowship (International)
NXTHVN invites up to seven artist and two curators each year to participate in a 10-month intensive paid fellowship program. Fellows receive a stipend and housing subsidies, as well as studio or office space. The mentorship-driven program includes professional development sessions conducted by visiting artists and curators. Each curator will receive a $45,000 grant, while studio fellows each will receive a $35,000 grant.

Tulsa Artist Fellowship (U.S.)
Tulsa Artist Fellowship offers ten artists in any discipline a $150,000 award paid over three-years, a $36,000 three-year housing stipend, a fully subsidised studio space and more.

Apolan Residencies at Fondation fiminco for Taiwanese Artists (International)
This program accepts applications from Taiwanese artist for a 4-month residency from mid September to mid January 2025. Artists are provided with accommodation, workspaces, administrative and professional assistance, and 305,000 NTD. This covers round-trip transport, living costs, production costs, insurance, visa application fee, and more.

Kala Art Institute 2024-2025 Scholarship (International)
Artists with innovative work in printmaking or photography, digital and social media, media installations, book arts, or media practice are encouraged apply. In 2024, Kala will award six artists a $3,000 stipend, unlimited access to Kala’s facilities for one to nine months, one Kala class, and a culminating show in the Kala Gallery. The entry fee is only $20.

Irene Yamamoto Arts Writers Fellowships for Emerging Writers of Color(U.S.)
The second annual Irene Yamamoto Arts Writers Fellowship awards $5,000 in unrestricted funds to two writers of color who have covered theatre, dance or performance art for less than two years and have experience in publishing.

The Erin Donohue & Family Ceramics Artists Residentship (International)
The Artists Association of Nantucket is hosting this residency to bring an artist to Nantucket. One artist will teach two five week classes, a community introductory course and a more advanced one for professionals and students. The program provides lodging, studio space and a $500 travel allowance. It also offers a $2,000 living expense and materials allowance.

Diriyah Futures Emerging New media Artists Program (International)
Diriyah Art Futures introduces a new digital and technology-driven production and training program that is concept-driven for emerging artists who work in digital arts and new media. This one-year fellowship supports emerging artists through access to cutting edge professional equipment, production budgets, and a wide range of multidisciplinary opportunities, including mentorship by prominent digital artists.

Hunter Moon Homestead Artists Residency (International)
This program in Palouse is open to artists and arts educators from all disciplines. Residents are provided with a one-to-three-week stay, including studio space and lodging.
